Since my last real post (in January) . . . :
Chris and I both had birthdays, turning 37 and 32 respectively. The kids had a lot of fun helping us celebrate-they are really into musical cards this year and had a great time picking them out and playing them over and over and over. :)
Quick side note: Musical cards . . . you know the ones that play a song or a message when you open them? I am afraid that these are becoming the new "digital cameras" for their generation. When I was little you put film in a camera and had to wait a couple of days for it to be developed before you got to see the pictures. Now (as we're all well aware) you can see your digital pictures as soon as you take them. Every once in a while we will run into someone with an old camera (non-digital) and they can't understand why you can't see the picture right away. The same premise holds true with the cards. If they open a card and it doesn't play a song they think it's broken. It makes me wonder about the consequences of technology. What is being lost . . . is it worth the gain? Remember handwritten letters? (sigh)
Anyway . . . last week was Spring break for the kids. We were blessed with beautiful weather and gladly spent the majority of the week outside. Monday we went to the zoo, and Tuesday and Wednesday we played in the park and took long walks. Thursday, the kids went to Chris's mom and dad's for a sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa and Friday the girls and I painted pottery and the boys had a "boy party" with their Uncle Scott and Grandpa Mike. Saturday was absolutely gorgeous and we spent the day outside raking the yard. I was sad to send the kids back to school on Monday morning-it was so nice to have them home and be schedule free. I can't wait for summer and the carefree days it will bring.
